SAINT OF THE WEEK

Saint Francis Xavier was one of the original four Jesuits. He would dedicate his life to spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth. He began Missions in India, Japan, and China. In all these places he was noted for great humility and compassion. He is considered the greatest missionary since Paul the Apostle. MONDAY IS UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER DAY

Ugly Christmas Sweater Day has become a tradition at JPII so make sure you wear yours TOMORROW! Wear your favorite Christmas sweater with uniform bottoms.

CANDY CANE GRAMS

Tuesday is the last day to order Candy Cane Grams for anyone at the school. Anyone can send a candy cane (or however many you would like to order), the story of the candy cane, and a personal message. They will be delivered this Friday. The cost is $1 for one or $3 for 5.

Volunteering through the Family Association is a great way to meet other parents and stay informed of school happenings. Your involvement through the generous sharing of time and talent is also very important to maintaining JPII as a leading-edge, college preparatory high school. Please consider volunteering through one of the following committees:

11TH GRADE HAS A DRESS DOWN DAY ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11 FOR DONATING THE MOST ITEMS TO DAUGHTERS OF WORTH!

FOOTBALL ALL-STATE SELECTIONS

Congratulations to sophomore Rion Roseborough and senior Josiah Thompson for their selection to the NCISAA All-State Football Team!

Roseborough had 103 carries for 908 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 two-point conversions in his first year as a Saint. On defense, Roseborough had 51 total tackles (11 for a loss), 8 sacks, and 1 interception.

Thompson, although injured part of the year and missed one game, had 152 carries for 1321 yards with 18 touchdowns and 5 two-point conversions. On defense, Thompson had 37 total tackles and 2 interceptions.

SERVICE HOURS

All students should record their service hours throughout the course of the year. You can record service to the school as well as service hours you do for any outside organizations. Use the button below to access the form to submit any service done from June 2020-May 2021.

Unfortunately, the swim meet scheduled for last Friday was canceled. There are two meets scheduled for this week:

Thursday at 4:00 p.m. vs. Parrott Academy in Kinston
Saturday at 2:00 p.m. vs. Cary Christian and Southeastern Homeschool Sports at Aquaventure (Spectators are not allowed but Aquaventure is live streaming meets on Facebook.)

Teams are only allowed 25 spectators so tickets are only available to player parents at this time. Home games will be streamed live on jp2sports.com, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
