WREATH FUNDRAISER

As a voluntary fundraiser, JPII families and friends can purchase evergreen wreaths, swags, and centerpieces from the Vermont Center Wreath Company. Your friends and family will rave about these gorgeous evergreen creations. Best of all, the school will earn at least $15 for each wreath, swag, or centerpiece shipped to the school for pick up and $8 for each product shipped directly to someone in another location. SADD RED RIBBON WEEK

This week the SADD Club will be sponsoring a Red Ribbon Campaign. This is a week dedicated to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs and to support the decision to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. SADD Club members will be handing out red ribbons for students to wear which signify a commitment to living a drug-free lifestyle.

CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS FINISH 3RD AT CPIC AND ARE OFF TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS ON FRIDAY

The Saints cross country teams placed three runners on the All-Conference Team as both the men and women placed 3rd in team competition at the CPIC Championships. Maggie Geiger (6th) and Reagan Hollenbaugh (10th) were all-CPIC for the women. Jessica Corley was 14th, Gabi Kennedy was 18th, and Kathryn Kaoud was 19th. A hard-charging Esteban Escobar passed two runners in the last 150 yards and nearly finished 3rd as he finished 4th in the men's race to earn all-conference. Tyler Moore finished 19th followed by Bryan Arvizu (22nd), Johnallen King (26th), and Hayden Danielson (28th).

Best of luck to both teams as they represent us at the state championships in Charlotte on Friday!

CONCUSSION TESTING

Athletic Trainer Mary Leach will be offering concussion testing Monday after school for any student who is playing a winter sport but has not yet been tested. Email her at mleach@jp2highschool.com to let her know if you plan to attend.

On Friday, Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, MD announced that Athletic Director, Head Football Coach, and Health/PE Teacher Sean Murphy is a 2020 inductee into their Hall of Fame. Coach Murphy is the longest-tenured (21 seasons) and winningest football coach (127) in ACHS history. CONGRATS COACH!

YEARBOOK CLUB

Students interested in joining the Yearbook Club are asked to attend a meeting in the art trailer on Monday from 3:15-4:30 p.m.

SWIMMING PARENT MEETING

Coach Geiger will hold a virtual meeting for parents of swim team athletes this Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Information related to the upcoming swim season will be provided. Please plan to join this meeting if your child will be swimming this year. To access the meeting:

Freshmen Natalie Blaubach and Simone Rogers will perform in the Greenville Civic Ballet's production of Peter and the Wolf which will stream on greenvillecivicballet.com on Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. Break a leg ladies!
