We will have seven Blackjack tables, two Roulette tables, and a Craps table that will be open from 6:00-9:30 p.m.; then casino chips can be used to purchase raffle tickets for fantastic items from local and national businesses. Tickets are $50 for individuals or $75 for couples. Each event ticket includes $100 worth of casino chips, hors dβoeuvres, dessert, and one ticket for beer, wine, or Pepsi. Raffle tickets can also be purchased at the event; 1 for $5, 5 for $20, or 40 for $100. DAR Contests are going on now! There is a video and a Patriot essay contest this year. Here is the information, and link to our contest website to see what other goodies to choose from. The deadline for both essay and video submissions is November 1st. This year, students can choose how to participate: -the traditional Patriots of the American Revolution essay contest (all essays are to be submitted electronically) -the American History video contest with the theme βEnjoying a new kind of Tea Party.β (details can be found in information sheet AHC-1010, located on our Google Classroom) Students are asked to choose one format or the other, not both. Ms. Thomsen has judged the DAR contest in the past so see her if you need help with any contest submissions. |

The class will be held Monday-Friday from 2:45-5:45 p.m. Students cannot miss any of the days or they will not get credit and do not receive a refund. Cost is $60 payable to JPII. Pitt CC and ECU staff will be on hand to answer questions and the latest updates from the Dept. of Education and general financial aid information will be shared, including: understanding college expenses the types of federal and state financial aid the importance of the FAFSA and how to prepare now to apply (including some of the major changes with last year's launch of the new FAFSA) local, state and national scholarship sources NC Residency Determination Service (RDS) ....and more!
