Dear JPII family,
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to start off by congratulating Ms. Goodman and our talented performing arts department for their production of Dinner at Eight, Dead by Nine. Thank you to all who worked behind the scenes to help make this happen.
On Friday night we had the opportunity to recognize all of our fall student-athletes and coaches during the football game. To top it off, our Saints brought home the second conference championship for the fall season! We look forward to the playoffs and thank all of the volunteers that helped make our fall sports a success.
This week we will celebrate Mass on Monday for All Saints Day and we have a half-day of school on Wednesday. Friday an admissions representative from the University of Alabama will be on campus during lunches to speak with interested students.
It is very important that students attend school each day unless they are sick. A few reminders from the handbook about attendance:
- Ten (10) absences (excused or unexcused) in a course may result in a failing or incomplete grade or necessitate make up time outside of the school day.
- Students must be free from fever, vomiting, or diarrhea 24 hours before returning to school. Students who are sent home during the school day with these symptoms will not be allowed to return to school the next day as this would not allow for the 24-hour protection of the entire school community.
- If a student is to be excused for any absence, they must provide an official medical or official appointment validation from a professional establishment (ex: college campus tour). The validation must show date and time of the appointment or absence. (A note from a parent does not excuse the absence.)
As I like to do, I want to thank all those families who
made the activities at our school possible over the last week by volunteering their time: Atkinson, Baker, Barbee, Bullock, Donofrio, Galinis, Gregory, Hennasey, Jennette, Moore, Shifflett, Shorter, Smith, and Waldo. Please know that all you do is appreciated!
In Christ,
