Dear JPII family,

I hope this finds you well! On Friday we celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit with Bishop Zarama who reminded us to find the goodness and happiness in ourselves in order to find true joy. Bishop Zarama also visited classrooms and held Q & A sessions with our Saints.

On Monday, we will kick off our “Feed a Starving Teacher” Family Association theme days. In order for students to participate, families are asked to donate $10 per family for the year (this can be done on the Families webpage). Each month, the class with the most participation will be recognized (dress code policy does apply). The theme for Monday is "colors" and each grade has been assigned the following color:

9th - gray
10th – gold
11th – white
12th – navy

We hope to see a school full of colors tomorrow...from head to toe!

Opportunities for student service-to-school hours are also in the works (to clarify, these are different from community service hours). We have created a student sign-up link that lists various ways students who need to complete these types of hours can fulfill their obligation. We will also have service days organized through Peer Ministry. As we continue to add more opportunities for service-to-school hours, we welcome outside ideas. If you have questions regarding service hours, Trayce Wilson-Ruffin is the point of contact.

We appreciate all that our families do to make the student experience at JPII the best it can be, including volunteers like Mrs. Leah Daughety who worked the gate at last week's soccer game.

Thank you again for your continued support as we navigate COVID. Our students continue to do a good job of wearing masks in our indoor facilities and buses. If you have not had the opportunity to complete the COVID survey, please log in to Blackbaud to do so. This information will help us continue to offer face-to-face instruction at JPII.
