CHRISTMAS VARIETY PROGRAM

The annual JPII Christmas variety program is THIS THURSDAY, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. This will be a night of performances featuring the JPII choir, theater department, instrumental music classes, and even our faculty will make a return appearance! Admission is free!

100% OF FACULTY & STAFF SUPPORT ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN

This week, our Annual Fund campaign reached a significant milestone for the first time in school history - 100% of our faculty and staff have participated! This was a goal we set for this year and we hope it shows just how much our educators and support staff are committed to our students and the mission of our school. We encourage our families, relatives, alumni, businesses, and anyone associated with our school to consider JPII for your end-of-year donations to help us reach our goal of $50,000 by December 31. DONATE TO THE ANNUAL FUND

Las Posadas celebrates the upcoming birth of Jesus with traditional Hispanic food, singing Christmas songs in Spanish, and more. All are invited to participate on Friday, December 16 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The event begins at the gym with a procession over to the school that ends in the dining hall.

There will be a Las Posadas planning meeting this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the PAC for anyone - students and parents - who would like to help with the planning and execution of Las Posadas.

SGA is sponsoring a warm-weather clothing drive. Students are encouraged to donate hats, gloves, socks, scarves, and other clothing items to keep those in need warm this winter. The class that contributes the most items by December 9th will receive donuts!

FCA will meet Wednesday morning at 7:15 in Gym - all are welcome!

GENERAL SCHOOL SUPPLIES

9th & 10th Grade Families: A reminder that at the beginning of the year we asked 11th & 12th grade families to provide general school supplies and that we would ask 9th & 10th grade families to provide the following supplies when we return to school in January after Christmas:

3 boxes of facial tissues (Kleenex, Puffs, etc.)
5 reams of copy paper
2 containers of hand sanitizer
2 containers of disinfecting wipes (Clorox, Lysol, etc.)

DRESS CODE REMINDERS

As the fall semester has progressed, we’ve had some students regress in compliance with the dress code. Students, it is your responsibility to make sure that you come to school dressed according to the dress code; parents - if you could help us out by making sure your child adheres to the following, we’d appreciate it.

The only shirts, sweatshirts, and outerwear to be worn at school is JPII apparel. Students can wear winter jackets to school but they need to be taken off once they enter the school.
All bottoms must be navy or khaki. Sports warmup bottoms are not permitted.
Athletic wear, including sports warmups, is not permitted.
Seniors may wear a college shirt/sweatshirt on Fridays with khaki or navy uniform bottoms.
Students who do not want to “Dress for Success” on Mass days must wear a collared shirt with nice pants; no denim. The pants cannot have holes or fringes. Hoodie sweatshirts are not allowed on Mass days. Sneakers are allowed on Mass days.
Anything that is overly tight or form-fitting is not considered modest and therefore not appropriate on any day.

Senior SGA is holding the annual Candy Cane Gram fundraiser through this Thursday. They are $1 each or $3 for 5 and will be delivered this Friday, December 9th.

MIDTERM EXAM SCHEDULE

Midterm exams will be held December 12-15. There are two exam periods Monday-Wednesday (8:10-10:10 and 10:30-12:30) and one exam period on Thursday. Students will need to arrive by 8:00 a.m. for morning assembly each day and be picked up at 12:30 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday and at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.

STUDENTS: On rainy days, bring your rain gear if your schedule requires you to walk to the athletic campus for class or if you park at the athletic campus.

FALL SPORTS FEES

MULCH MADNESS RETURNS THIS SPRING!

We are bringing back our Mulch Madness all-school fundraiser this coming spring. Bags are 2 cubic feet of mulch (each bag covers 10-12 square feet 2 inches deep) in four colors that are $5 each. Orders will be accepted until Friday, March 10 and pickup will be Saturday, March 25. Orders of 25 or more bags can be delivered for few to addresses within 5 miles of the school. Don't need mulch? Consider purchasing bags and donating them to the school.
