This week's Saint is St. Josemaria Escriva who is known for founding Opus Dei, an organization of Catholics who seek holiness in daily life. He taught that each person proclaims the Gospel through the actions of their daily lives. He is the patron saint of Opus Dei and people with diabetes. >READ MORE

"Coffee with the Counselor" for freshman parents on Wednesday, September 30 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Google Meet. Pop in to ask any lingering questions you may have from the freshman presentation; the presentation link will be sent via Jupiter on Tuesday.

SOPHOMORES PARENTS

"Coffee with the Counselor" for sophomore parents on Wednesday, October 7 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Google Meet. Pop in any time during the hour to ask questions in an informal setting. The sophomore presentation will be shared with parents at the beginning of the week via Jupiter.

JUNIOR PARENTS

Junior parent Q&A on Google Meet on Saturday, October 3 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Pop in any time during the hour to ask questions about the junior presentation. The presentation will be shared with parents via Jupiter on Friday.

SENIOR PARENTS

Senior parent Q&A on Google Meet on Saturday, October 3 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Get your most pressing college application questions answered via an informal chat. Individual meetings can be scheduled at any time by reaching out to Mrs. Hanson.

SAINTS SPORTS WEEK

Monday - Cross Country meet at Wayne Country Day at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday - Volleyball at Wayne Country Day; JV at 4:30 p.m., varsity at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday - Volleyball vs. Greenfield; JV at 4:00 p.m., varsity at 5:00 p.m.

Friday - Football at Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m.

BASEBALL WORKOUTS

Baseball coach Matt Mason will hold workouts Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m. through October.

A reminder for all student-athletes that if you are playing a sport that is currently in season, your commitment is to that sport. You should not participate in offseason workouts for other sports unless they do not conflict with practices or games for the sport you are currently playing.

CALENDAR CHANGES

October 9 and 29 have changed from 1/2 days of school to remote learning days for them to catch up on any work they have. They will not attend classes but teachers will have at least 1 hour of office hours should students need help from a teacher.

October 14 is the day of the PSAT which should be completed by 12:00. We will dismiss at our traditional 1/2 day dismissal of 12:05 p.m. The remainder of that day will be a teacher workday.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events in each division. Mrs. Lyles is looking forward to starting the first JPII Science Olympiad team after coaching for the past 7 years at her previous school. There will be an interest meeting on Monday, October 5 at 3:30 p.m. (this meeting may be virtual). If you are interested, please let Mrs. Lyles know.

CULTURE & SERVICE TRIP TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The service learning trip to the Dominican Republic that was supposed to take place this past summer has been moved to late summer of 2021. It is not too late to sign up! Please contact Ms. Goodman if you would like more details on this fantastic trip or would like to register!

High school sophomores are invited to begin preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Peter Catholic Church. SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING

If you wish to volunteer at the school and have not completed Safe Environment Training, initial or renewal training webinars will be held on the following dates:

If your current training expires between now and the end of the year, you are encouraged to participate in one of these webinars.
