This week's Saint is St. Gianna Molla who was a physician with a great love for serving those in need. While pregnant, she was diagnosed with cancer and refused any action that would harm the child. She would die shortly after the birth of her young daughter. She is a patron of physicians, families, mothers, wives, and unborn children. >READ MORE

CANNED FOOD DRIVE COMPETITION

Catholic Charities is running low on canned foods and especially low on canned vegetables. To help, we will hold a canned food drive competition amongst the pods starting on Monday and going until October 16. Each student who brings in cans can record 1 hour of school service per 5 cans (up to 10 hours).

"Coffee with the Counselor" for sophomore parents on Wednesday, October 7 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Google Meet. Pop in any time during the hour to ask questions in an informal setting. The sophomore presentation will be shared with parents at the beginning of the week via Jupiter.

DEBATE CLUB

Mr. Elliott will hold the first meeting of the Debate Club on Wednesday, October 7 from 3:15-4:00 p.m. in room 107. If you are interested, you are asked to complete this form to share 2-3 topics that you would be interested in debating.

TEEN LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Congratulations to juniors Max Dooley, Dillon Gregory, and Destini Hunt for being chosen to participate in this year's Chamber of Commerce Teen Leadership Institute which is limited to just 25 participants.

PSAT/NMSQT

The PSAT (also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade in-person students on October 14 (remote students will have alternate test date options). We will dismiss at our traditional 1/2 day dismissal of 12:05 p.m. The remainder of that day will be a teacher workday.

Seniors have this day off.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

The Science Olympiad interest meeting is tomorrow, Monday, October 5 at 3:30. The meeting will be held virtually and the Google Meet code is SciOly22. If you have questions, please let Mrs. Lyles know.

PEP BAND

Calling all instrumentalists! If you are interested in playing in the Pep Band for basketball season (as long as we are able to attend games), please email Ms. Goodman with your name and instrument preference. Rehearsals would be once a week on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 p.m. until the season starts, and then perform at most home basketball games.

CULTURE & SERVICE TRIP TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The service learning trip to the Dominican Republic that was supposed to take place this past summer has been moved to late summer of 2021. It is not too late to sign up! Please contact Ms. Goodman if you would like more details on this fantastic trip or would like to register!

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT IN BERLIN

In 2022, Ms. Goodman will be leading a trip to the Global Leadership Conference in Berlin where students will get a chance to team up with other students from around the world to problem solve in a Model UN type of weekend. The theme is The Impact of Sports and Wellness. Following the conference, the trip will end with a visit to Switzerland! A virtual meeting will be held on Thursday, October 22 (time TBD) for anyone who might be interested in the trip. Ms. Goodman will go through all the information you need to know before making a decision. A time and link to the virtual meeting will be shared soon.

CONFIRMATION

High school sophomores are invited to begin preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Peter Catholic Church. If you wish to volunteer at the school and have not completed Safe Environment Training, initial or renewal training webinars will be held on the following dates:
