TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ORDER A YEARBOOK!

Today is the LAST DAY to guarantee your yearbook order! After this date, quantities are limited and yearbooks will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot print additional copies if we run out, so order now!

Yearbooks are $64.20 (including tax) and can be ordered online with a credit card.

BASEBALL & WOMEN'S SOCCER START THIS WEEK

The Saints baseball and women's soccer teams will be at home this week (see the calendar below for days/times) and 100 spectators are allowed at each game. Student tickets are free but must be reserved online. Families can purchase tickets for $5 each.

VIRTUAL WEDNESDAYS START THIS WEEK!

Last week it was announced that we will start Virtual Wednesdays as a content focus day for students and teachers. They will be used to provide instructional enrichment, extension, and support for students. After-school activities will continue as scheduled.

Monday and Tuesday - Full day of school with regular bell schedule

Wednesday - Virtual Day with AM classes (1st-4th periods) that end at 12:05 p.m. All students can schedule meetings with teachers to get extra help from 1:00-3:00 p.m.; students with a C- or below in any class should set up a time to meet with their teacher(s) during this time.

Thursday - Full day Mass schedule to allow for the Winter Sports Awards Ceremony that will be live streamed during Mass time

Friday - Half day Mass day with PM classes and Mass

Next Monday and Tuesday, March 8 and 9 - NO SCHOOL

1st choice pregnancy resources of pamlico county

LENTEN ALMSGIVING

Lent is a season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving! Each year as a JPII community we take on an almsgiving project. This year we are collecting change for the First Choice Pregnancy Resource Center of Pamlico County. This center provides help to mothers who have crisis pregnancies. They provide medical support as well as supplies to aid them throughout their baby's first years. These volunteers ensure that no mother will be alone when they are worried about pregnancy.

To participate in this project students are invited to collect pocket change or cash and bring it in to deposit in their pod's jar or baby bottle. Bring in your change by March 25 for it to be counted! The pod to collect the most money will be rewarded with a field trip to the movies!

All the money collected by the pods will go directly to the First Choice Pregnancy Resource Center of Pamlico County. These donations will help the center buy an ultrasound machine.

Virtual Drivers Ed

Tara Parker Ed.D. will join the JPII family as college admissions advisor effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Parker is the owner and college admissions consultant at Premier College Prep Consulting, LLC. She has spent the last 15 years working as a school administrator (nine of those with high school students) as a principal, assistant principal, testing coordinator, and coordinator for a high school workforce development program. Throughout these positions, Dr. Parker worked with thousands of high school students in the areas of course guidance, graduation requirements, preparing for college, college applications, college essays, interview preparation, and final college selection. She also has extensive knowledge of athletics and the NCAA eligibility process.

Parker focused on school choice in Pitt County for her dissertation research topic when earning her doctorate in educational leadership from North Carolina State University. She received two master's (school administration and science education) and her bachelor's in exercise and sports science from East Carolina University. She holds licenses in the state of North Carolina for superintendent, principal, curriculum instructional specialist, and 9-12 science and physical education teacher. Parker is a member of the ECU College of Education Hall of Fame and received the 2015 Most Outstanding Dissertation Award from the NC State Department of Educational Leadership.

When she is not working with clients, Dr. Parker enjoys spending time with her husband and three teenage children who are very active in travel baseball and volleyball. She is a member of the East Carolina University Alumni Association Board of Directors and the East Carolina Junior Volleyball Club Executive Board.
