The Aviation Club is planning to attend the โWings Over Wayne Airshowโ at Seymour-Johnson AFB in Goldsboro on Sunday, May 4th. This semi-annual event features several top-tier civilian and military performers, including the USAF Thunderbirds. We will depart JPII at 9:00 a.m. and return around 5:00 p.m. This is open to ALL JPII students, however, everyone must have a signed permission slip turned into Mrs Lyles by Thursday. Please email Mrs Lyles if you are interested in attending so we can get an accurate headcount. Hope to see you there! |

Mrs. Lyles is leading a trip to Disney World in January 2025 to learn the physics of Disney parks. See below and learn more at the interest meeting on Thursday, May 8th at 5:30 p.m. When: January 14-17th 2026 Who: The trip is open to all JPII students (40 max) What: Students will spend three nights and two full days in the Walt Disney Park and attend a 2-hour hands-on workshop about the physics of the park and an additional workshop about technology in the park. Travel: via motor coach Meals: Students will receive vouchers for meals at the park Lodging: Walt Disney Resort Hotel (4 students/room) Cost: Approximately $1,500 (amount may be slightly higher or lower depending on the number attending) with non-refundable deposit of $250. Cost includes park tickets, transportation, food (at the park), and lodging. The remaining amount will be charged monthly to your Finalsite Enrollment account during the 2025-2026 school year. Complete the commitment form to sign up for a place on the trip! |

| The Thurgood Marshall College Fund is hosting a summer program for current 11th graders (class of 2026) who are interested in attending an HBCU after graduation. SOAR is a week-long residential program over the summer to introduce students to college and then support them throughout their college journey during their senior year. |

The ECU Miller School of Entrepreneurship is hosting a week-long entrepreneurial program to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and how to launch a business idea. Rising 9th-12th graders can take advantage of this FREE opportunity (with lunch provided!) July 21st-25th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. The Monday-Friday camp will conclude with student presentations during the Friday Showcase. This year, the winning team will receive a cash prize at the final-day Trade Show Event and all participants will be able to apply for an ECU-based scholarship should they choose to pursue a degree at ECU. The camp is completely free, but spots are limited to only 30 students. The deadline to apply is June 11th! |

Both teens, visiting and hosting, will have a schedule of fun activities, service projects, day trips, trips to Washington D.C. and Busch Gardens, attending church services, time of discoveries, and more. Visiting teens can share a bedroom with the host teen. Most days will be dropping off in the morning and picking up in the evening. Help with drop off and pick up is available. The project is free of charge and provides service hours. Families can express interest via email or by calling Silvia Frizzelle at 252-258-5963. |
