To dress down is $3 and to watch the movie during 5th period is an additional $5. Money is payable to Ms. Bradsher. You must have permission from your 5th period teacher to attend the movie viewing. Use the link below to sign up and vote for the film that will be shown on May 4th!

Last call for golfers! The inaugural JPII Golf Tournament is Thursday (Cinco de Mayo!) at Greenville Country Club with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Individual playing spots are $125.

SPRING PLAY IS FRIDAY!

Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed them Up) is this Friday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Art Center. Tickets are $10 each (JPII students are free) and can be purchased in advance online using the button below.

Annie Geiger, Alex Peterson, Katherine Stanley, and Brody Mitchell have earned the designation of Junior Marshals for this year's graduation. Congrats to all!

To celebrate the last day of classes, Performing Arts and Sophomore SGA are co-hosting an Improv & Karaoke Night on Thursday, May 19.

Improv: 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Karaoke 7:15 p.m.-until

Admission will be a $5 donation to support the cause in Ukraine. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

DRIVER'S ED CLASS STARTS NEXT MONDAY, MAY 9

Students who need to take driver's ed and will be 14-and-a-half as of Monday, May 9 are eligible to participate in a class that will be held at the school May 9-13 and 16-20 from 3:15-6:15 p.m. each day. Students cannot miss any of the days or they will not get credit and do not receive a refund. Cost is $60 payable to JPII. Over the next two weeks, students enrolled in AP classes will be taking the end-of-year AP exam. Students are to report to the gym on the day/time of their test(s). For the 8:00 a.m. tests, students are to arrive no later than 7:45 a.m.; for tests at 12:00 noon, students are to arrive no later than 11:45 a.m. Personal belongings are not allowed in the testing room, including electronics and food/drink. Pencils/pens will be provided but students are responsible for bringing a calculator (if appropriate). A reminder that there is a $95 AP Exam fee for each course; those fees will be billed to Smart Tuition accounts in May.

FOOTBALL SUMMER WORKOUTS

Coach Murphy will start summer workouts for football on Monday, June 13. The weekly schedule will be:

Mondays & Wednesdays: 8:00-10:30 a.m.
Thursdays: 6:00-8:30 p.m.

CROSS COUNTRY INTEREST MEETING ON THURSDAY

Coach Corley will hold an interest meeting for the 2022-2023 boys and girls cross country teams immediately after school on Thursday, May 5, in his classroom (S107). We will discuss summer training and expectations for the fall season. The meeting should take no more than 15 minutes. Contact Mr. Corley with any questions.

The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina is accepting applications now through June 1 for their two high school student programs.

MUSIC LESSONS

Would you like to learn an instrument? Do you have an instrument sitting around your house but haven't picked it up since elementary school? Are you interested in participating in the pep band in the winter, but don't currently play an instrument? Ms. Goodman offers instrumental and voice lessons over the summer at the school, including piano. Contact her for rates and scheduling details. You must provide your own instrument (but Ms. Goodman can help you acquire one if needed!)
