| | Dear JPII families, I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Sunday, and are looking forward to a four-day week of classes. I want to thank Mr. Parker, Mr. Zylis, and the rest of the retreat leaders for the 10th grade spiritual retreat this past week. The foundation of our school is built on Christian faith, and through these retreats, we strive to help our students come to know Jesus and understand that they are special and loved. I would also like to congratulate all of our winter student-athletes for their commitment and dedication to their respected sport. Our Saints represented JPII with confidence and respect, always showing good sportsmanship in the wins and losses. Looking ahead, please mark your calendars to attend a school update meeting in the PAC on March 1st at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Balot, Mr. Harvey, and I will be addressing the current state of the school, future plans, development, and time for a Q&A. As always, if you have any ideas, questions, or concerns please reach out to me. JPII Catholic High School needs the support of our parents to help us provide a lifestyle of learning by cultivating student growth of mind, body, and spirit. I hope you have a great week! In Christ, |

GIRLS BIBLE STUDY On Wednesday, Mrs. Mabe introduced all the girls to a Bible study that she will be leading during advisory each week starting on March 9. She will be using "Radiant" by Priscilla Shirer to help girls understand how they are way more than the labels they (and the world) puts on them...they will discover their true identity in Christ! Girls who attend at least 6 of the 8 meetings will be invited to a special "spa night" celebration in May. If you intend to participate click here to sign up. The cost is $10 to cover the book which can be paid by cash or check to Mrs. Mabe, Paypal (paypal.me/jfmabe), or Venmo (Jennifer-Mabe-2). |

| Congratulations to the members of the JPII swim team who competed in the NCISAA State Championship swim meet in Greensboro on Tuesday, February 15. JPII sent five swimmers in individual events (Caroline Williams, Dillon Gregory, Connor Gay, Nick Garza, and Luke McCarthy) plus another four to compete in relays (Maddy Correa, Annie Geiger, Cora Carpenter, and Josh Gibbs). To be eligible to compete in individual events, swimmers had to swim faster than the cutoff time in one of the season’s meets. Luke McCarthy made the podium in the 500 freestyle with a 3rd place finish. Luke also finished 4th in the 100 breaststroke. Dillon got 8th place in the 50 freestyle (out of 43 swimmers) and the boys 200 yard freestyle relay got 5th place. Almost all of the swimmers achieved a personal best in at least one of their events. |
