This summer's bowling outing is NEXT WEEK! This is an opportunity for new students to meet one another as well as our returning students. Join us on Wednesday, July 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Bowlero (formerly AMF) on Red Banks Road. Pre-registration is required and space is limited! Cost is $30/person and includes:

2 hours of bowling
shoe rental
unlimited soft drinks
unlimited chicken tenders, pepperoni pizza, and french fries
$10 arcade card (20 credits)

SPIRIT WEAR ORDERING

Summer is often a good time to order JPII spirit wear. The Saints Shop, EB Sports, and Ink'd Threads are the official providers of JPII spirit wear.

The Saints Shop is the on-campus spirit wear store. Orders are placed online, pulled soon after they are submitted, and then picked up at the school.

The EB Sports store closes each Tuesday and re-opens the following day. We recommend ordering on the weekend or Monday since orders are pulled on Tuesday. If you order on Wednesday, your order will not be pulled until the following Tuesday thus adding a week to processing. Orders can take 2-3 weeks to process and complete from the store closing date! Any items that become back-ordered due to challenges with suppliers may take longer than the 3 weeks for delivery.

Orders from EB Sports are delivered to the school; if you order from Ink'd Threads, when you checkout you can choose to either pick up your order or have it delivered to the school.

Theology

Daniel Glass has lived in six countries and experienced the culture of more than 40 countries, but he’s excited to be back in North Carolina to join the JPII family as a theology teacher.

DRESS CODE ITEM DONATIONS

If you have dress code items (khaki shorts or pants, spirit wear, etc.) that are in good condition (no holes, etc.) that you have outgrown or no longer need and would like to donate to the school for future students, please drop them off in the main office (Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.).

HELP! WE HAVE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WHO NEED A HOST FAMILY FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR!

Hosting an international student is not only a great way to expand your knowledge of another culture but provides a wonderful opportunity for the student to experience yours. Along the way, they will make new friends and improve their use of the English language.

Host families receive a stipend in exchange for providing a loving environment, a room to live in, meals, and transportation to school. The students will cover most of their expenses, including school tuition, health insurance, phone plan, etc, while in the USA.

We are looking for 5-10 families who would be willing to host an international student for the 2024-2025 school year. Families can earn service-to-school hours by hosting an international student. If you are interested in hosting a student, please email Doug Smith.

Students who complete the driving portion of Driver's Ed over the summer and need the N.C. Driving Eligibility Certificate to obtain a permit should email mainoffice@jp2highschool.com to request the certificate. A reminder that office summer hours are Tuesdays-Thursdays from 9-2 so please plan accordingly.

DRIVER'S ED

Students who will be 14-and-a-half as of Monday, August 5th are eligible to participate in the class that will be held at the school Monday-Friday, August 5-9 from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. each day. Students cannot miss any class time or they will not get credit and do not receive a refund.

We are looking for drivers with a CDL with the passenger endorsement. If you have a CDL (or would be interested in getting one) and would be willing to drive on an as-needed basis (away athletic events, field trips, etc.), please email mainoffice@jp2highschool.com. Families can earn service-to-school hours by driving when needed.

ATHLETICS INFORMATION

Dates and times for fall sports have been added to the school calendar and jp2sports.com.

Youngs Physical Therapy and ECU Sports Medicine will be offering $20 sports physicals on Tuesday, July 16 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in our gym. This is an option for student-athletes who need a physical - it is not required. The cost is $25 (payable by cash or check the day of). Parents of student-athletes who participate are asked to complete the first two sections of the NCISAA Packet prior to the physical and bring the entire packet to the physical for completion. Building Hope is a faith-based non-profit youth and family development organization with a desire to serve the children and families of our community. If you enjoy hands-on work and/or engaging with students directly, volunteer at Building Hope.

JUNIORS & JUNIOR PARENTS: Below are the vaccine requirements for starting 12th grade. In order for a senior to receive their 2024-2025 class schedule, Ms. Blanton needs to have an updated immunization record that reflects these vaccinations.
