$5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes from 7:30-7:55 in the dining hall. Cash and cards accepted. This is a Junior class fundraiser for prom.

Thursday: Heroes & Villains (no masks or painted faces)

Friday: Black Out

If you choose not to dress according to the day's theme, you are to dress according to the dress code.

Join us for a night of adults-only fun at the tables on Saturday, Oct. 18th while supporting the students of JPII! Ticket holders receive $100 in casino chips, one alcoholic drink ticket, food, and desserts. Additional chips and drinks can be purchased throughout the evening. This event is open to all, so please plan to attend and feel free to bring friends with you who are not affiliated with our school.

We will have seven Blackjack tables, two Roulette tables, one Texas Hold'em table, and a Craps table that will be open from 6:00-9:30 p.m.; then casino chips can be used to purchase raffle tickets (1 ticket for every $10 worth of chips) for fantastic items from local businesses. Raffle tickets can also be purchased at the event; 1 for $5, 6 for $20, 20 for $50, or 50 for $100. Winning tickets will be pulled and announced later in the evening. Silent and live auction items will also be available for higher-priced items.

We are looking for a few fun and exciting auction items for this year's Casino Night! If you or your business would like to donate to an auction item or have an idea for an item, please reach out to Charlie Harvey at charlie@jp2chs.com or 252-347-4046. Documentation of your donation will be provided for tax purposes.

All volunteer hours performed over the summer (June 1st-Aug. 13th) must be submitted through the Works of Mercy Google form (only accessible by students) by Sept. 30th in order to count for the 2025-2026 school year.

Students can also earn Works of Mercy hours by volunteering time at our school sporting events. Sign up under the Service to School SignUp. Once you sign up, send an email to Mrs. Hughes to let her know you want to count that volunteer time toward your Works of Mercy hours.

DRIVER'S ED
Students who will be 14-and-a-half as of Monday, Dec. 1st and need to take driver's ed are eligible to participate in the class that will be held at the school Dec. 1st-5th & 8th-12th from 2:45-5:45 p.m. each day. Students cannot miss any of the days or they will not get credit and do not receive a refund. Cost is $60 payable to JPII. ATTRACTIONS BOOKS ARE HERE! Each year we ask our student body to participate in one school-wide fundraiser: The Attractions Dining and Value Guide. These books offer thousands of dollars in savings at restaurants, stores, service shops, and more. We ask each student to sell a minimum of 4 books to family, friends, and neighbors for $25 each by Friday, Oct. 17th. Students will receive their books to sell during 7th period on Monday. The 2026 edition has expanded to over 30 states. Thank you in advance for your support of this event.

Open House for new parents and students who are interested in enrolling for the 2026-2027 school year will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25th from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Please help us spread the word by sharing the event on Facebook. If you know of families who are considering JPII for their son or daughter for next year, please make sure they know about this opportunity and encourage them to attend!

This is a floating event with a short program at the beginning followed by opportunities to visit with teachers in their classrooms and then with our coaches at the gym.

From time to time, we are asked how to order a varsity letter jacket. These are ordered through Jostens - the order form is linked below and can be found on the STORE page on our website.

LETTER JACKET ORDER FORM

The Dance Team will hold a workout and tryout for basketball season on Saturday, Oct. 11th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. (workout) and Monday, Oct. 13th from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (tryout) in the gym. Please email Coach Nilsen if you would like to participate. Dancers will need to wear clothes they can easily move in, wear tennis shoes or dance sneakers, and bring water.

Students and parents interested in participating in the 4th Annual Multicultural Fair are asked to email Mrs. Holley for more information. This exciting event gives students the chance to explore different cultures, enjoy new foods, and share their own traditions.

SHOWCASING THE WORK OF OUR STUDENTS IN THE ARTS

The photography students have been busy this semester learning how to control various settings on the camera. Jumping and watching food coloring swirl in milk helped them to freeze action. Photographing dice was a lesson in aperture and depth of field. The lightning scar on the tree taught them about adjusting the ISO to control lighting. And for something different, we used the sugar fibers from cotton candy to practice backlighting.
