September is Childhood Cancer AwarenessMonth...and this year, for our boys soccer team, it is personal. Junior Zac Velleman was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma not often found in children. He recently started chemotherapy but Zac's fight is our fight because as Saints we fight together! The soccer team captains wanted to do something to let Zac and his family know that while he may not be able to join them on the field, he is very much with them for every game...and they are with him! They had a special "KICK CHILDHOOD CANCER" jersey designed that all the players wore for last week's 1-0 victory over Greenfield. To continue to support Zac and his family, we are taking pre-orders now through Sunday, Sept. 22nd for T-shirts that are similar to the jersey. The shirts are considered JPII spirit wear and can be worn as part of the dress code. |
