TUESDAY

All juniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, April 5. Junior will report to the gym at the beginning of the day (instead of the PAC) and will be dismissed once testing is complete. The following day, Wednesday, April 6, will be a virtual day for all juniors and seniors.

WEDNESDAY

All freshmen will participate in Iowa testing on Wednesday, April 6 which is a half day of school.

All sophomores will take the PreACT on Wednesday, April 6 which is a half day of school.

Broadway Night is THIS SATURDAY, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the PAC. This will be a night of singing and acting by our students, with our theme being "Songs that Matter." Admission will be free (suggested $5/person donation at the door), and donation cans will be placed on tables during the show if you would like to donate to our growing arts programs.

SHOP THE SALE

Mrs. Mabe is hosting a Ladies Roller Skate Date this Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Extreme Action Park in Chocowinity. Students who need a ride can hop on a JPII minibus at 12:30; the bus will return to school for parent pickup at 3:30 p.m. Cost is $10 payable to Mrs. Mabe by Venmo (Jennifer-Mabe-2) or cash - includes skate rental and lunch from the snack bar.

Sophomore SGA will host a Karaoke Night on Wednesday, April 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the PAC. Admission is $5 per person; all proceeds will go toward supporting the cause in Ukraine. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

PROM TICKETS

This year's junior/senior prom will be held Thursday, April 28 from 8:00-11:00 p.m. at Stokes Family Farm. Tickets are $30 for individuals and $55 for couples; click the button below to purchase tickets online.

Dr. Ralph Martin, host of "The Choices We Make" on EWTN will visit the ECU Newman Center this Friday, April 8 at 8:00 p.m. for "Living as Catholics in Challenging Times: The Question of Salvation." All are welcome to attend.

Martin holds a doctorate in theology and is the director of Graduate Theology Programs in the New Evangelization at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Detroit. He is the president of Renewal Ministries and the author of the widely read “A Church in Crisis: Pathways Forward” and “The Fulfillment of All Desire: A Guidebook for the Journey to God Based on the Wisdom of the Saints.”

MUSIC LESSONS

Would you like to learn an instrument? Do you have an instrument sitting around your house but haven't picked it up since elementary school? Are you interested in participating in the pep band in the winter, but don't currently play an instrument? Ms. Goodman offers instrumental and voice lessons over the summer at the school, including piano. Contact her for rates and scheduling details. You must provide your own instrument (but Ms. Goodman can help you acquire one if needed!)

Spend an afternoon on the golf course while supporting our school! The inaugural JPII Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo!) at Greenville Country Club with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Individual playing spots are $125 or make it an afternoon with three friends to play as a team for $500. Hole sponsorships are also available. Click the button below to learn more.

Congratulations to the members of the boys tennis team for making Saints history by winning their first-ever match on Friday against Christ Covenant 3-1! In singles, Armando Perez and Brody Mitchell both won 8-1 and in doubles Armando and Brody won 8-0.

NEXT DRIVER'S ED CLASS IS IN MAY

Students who need to take driver's ed and will be 14-and-a-half as of Monday, May 9 are eligible to participate in a class that will be held at the school May 9-13 and 16-20 from 3:15-6:15 p.m. each day. Students cannot miss any of the days or they will not get credit and do not receive a refund. Cost is $60 payable to JPII.
