Driving Eligibility Certificate

Students who complete the driving portion of Driver's Ed over the summer and need the N.C. Driving Eligibility Certificate to obtain a permit should email mainoffice@jp2highschool.com to request the certificate. DRESS CODE SIMPLIFIED

The daily dress code will now be the dress code every day. Students must come dressed for school (they cannot dress at their locker or in the bathroom) and are expected to abide by the dress code at all times during the school day. The daily dress code is as follows:

  • tops: a gray, navy blue, light blue, white, or light yellow polo or a JPII spirit wear shirt; JPII outerwear if desired
  • bottoms: modest navy blue or khaki fingertip length shorts or skirts (ladies only, no higher than 3 inches above the knee) or slacks, including solid navy blue or khaki joggers
  • shoes: closed-toe shoes, Crocs, sandals, sneakers, or boots (no slides)

Additionally:

  • If a student is wearing outerwear that includes a hood, at no time should the hood be on their head.
  • Clothing must fit appropriately. Anything that is overly tight or form-fitting is not considered modest and therefore not acceptable. Clothes should also not be too baggy, ripped, or tattered. There should be no cleavage and no bare midriffs, whether this is caused by tops “rising up” or bottoms “riding down.”
  • At no time are the following items appropriate to wear during the school day: hats inside the building, pajamas, athletic pants, and short running shorts.
  • Only modest ear piercings are allowed.
  • Any hairstyle that causes a disturbance in the learning environment is not allowed. If a student dyes their hair, it must be of a natural color.
  • Tattoos must be covered at all times.

Students are required to comply with all staff instructions regarding dress and appearance. Staff reserves the right to determine at any time if any piece of clothing, jewelry, or anything worn by the student is unacceptable in the school environment and may ask the student to change or remove it. If a student is not following dress code guidelines, the appropriate disciplinary action will be applied. Questions about this policy should be directed to the dean of students.

Morehead-Cain Scholarship

Calendar

Visit jp2highschool.com/calendar for the most up-to-date school calendar (a one-page version of the calendar can be downloaded here). On the Calendar page, you will find instructions to subscribe to the main JPII and athletics calendars if you would like to add them to your iOS or Android device.

Spiritwear

Summer is often a good time to order JPII spirit wear. The Saints Shop, EB Sports, and Ink'd Threads are the official providers of JPII spirit wear.

The Saints Shop is the on-campus spirit wear store. Orders are pulled soon after they are submitted and are picked up at the school.

The EB Sports store closes each Tuesday and re-opens the following day. We recommend ordering on the weekend or Monday since orders are pulled on Tuesday. If you order on Wednesday, your order will not be pulled until the following Tuesday thus adding a week to processing. Orders can take 2-3 weeks to process and complete from the store closing date! Any items that become back-ordered due to challenges with suppliers may take longer than the 3 weeks for delivery.

Orders from EB Sports are delivered to the school; if you order from Ink'd Threads you can choose to either pick up your order or have it delivered to the school when you checkout.

RMH

Applications for the Ronald McDonald House Teen Ambassador Program are due June 30. The Teen Ambassador Program is comprised of a select group of high school students chosen based on academic merit and commitment to volunteering. Ambassadors gain a greater understanding of several aspects of a nonprofit organization and shows them the importance of giving back to the community. Teens commit to a service year from September – May and meet at least once a month at RMHC of Eastern NC.

Are you interested in participating in the pep band in the winter, but don't currently play an instrument? Ms. Goodman offers instrumental and voice lessons over the summer at the school, including piano. Contact her for rates and scheduling details. You must provide your own instrument (but Ms. Goodman can help you acquire one if needed!)

RISING SENIORS & PARENTS OF RISING SENIORS: Below are the vaccine requirements for starting 12th grade. In order for a senior to receive their 2023-2024 class schedule, Ms. Blanton needs to have an updated immunization record that reflects these vaccinations.
