The Casino Night originally scheduled for this coming Saturday, May 13, has been postponed to Saturday, September 30. Tickets that have already been purchased will be valid in September. Registration will reopen over the summer.

Our annual Improv Night will be held on Friday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the PAC. This will be a night of laughs in a Whose Line is it Anyway? style of comedy performance by our Improv Club members. Admission is free ($5 donation suggested)!

AP EXAMS & FEES

AP course fees will be assessed to SchoolAdmin accounts in May - $95 per course per student. Below is the schedule of AP exams:

May 8 at 8:00 a.m.: Calculus AB
May 10 at 8:00 a.m.: Spanish Language & Culture
May 10 at 12:00 noon: Biology
May 11 at 12:00 noon: Physics

Athletic Trainer Julia Digiacomo will administer concussion baseline testing for student-athletes who would like to go ahead and complete the testing for next school year.

BRING YOUR MACBOOK WITH YOU!

PREPARING TO RETURN YOUR MACBOOK

All students (including seniors) will need to turn in their MacBooks on Wednesday, May 24 at 12:00 p.m. or Thursday, May 25 at 10:15 a.m. upstairs in the gym. Students who are taking summer classes through PCC and would like to keep their MacBooks should notify Mr. Doug via emailno later than Friday, May 19.

If you have decorated the MacBook in any way, that will need to be undone. Stickers need to be removed and any adhesive residue removed. While you cannot return it in new condition like it was given to you, please do your best to return it in as close to like-new condition as possible for the next student who will use it.

Both the MacBook and charger (block and cable) need to be turned in at the same time - please do not bring one without the other unless you have lost your charger and need to pay for a replacement. Since the school provided an official Apple power adapter and cable, if you are buying a replacement, it must be official Apple products:

Congratulations to sophomore Emma Anderson who has been accepted to attend the NC State College of Engineering Summer Residential Camp! She will have the opportunity to explore engineering and college life at NC State by spending a week on campus immersed in a specific engineering workshop of her choice. Emma's course for the camp is Engineering Better Stuff with Materials Science - Materials Science and Engineering.

Freshman Hannah Shoemaker and junior Johnallen King have been selected to attend The Shelton Challenge at NC Wesleyan University, a six-day residential leadership experience to help students expand their knowledge and skills of what it takes to be an effective leader including personal leadership assessment and interpersonal dynamics, the role of values and ethics in leadership, leadership traits and approaches, empowering others, civic and social responsibility, and goal setting. Congratulations Hannah & Johnallen!

Applications for the Ronald McDonald House Teen Ambassador Program are due June 30. The Teen Ambassador Program is comprised of a select group of high school students chosen based on academic merit and commitment to volunteering. Ambassadors gain a greater understanding of several aspects of a nonprofit organization and shows them the importance of giving back to the community. Teens commit to a service year from September – May and meet at least once a month at RMHC of Eastern NC.

Football Summer Workouts

June 13-July 27

Tuesdays 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Wednesdays 8:00-10:30 a.m.

Thursdays 6:00-8:30 p.m.

No workouts on July 4 & 5

Cheerleading will host workouts to learn tryout material June 5-7 and June 15-16 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Tryouts will be held on June 20 in the gym from 9:00-11:00 a.m. If you plan to attend, please email Mrs. Holley so she can send you additional information.

Students interested in running cross country in the fall should email Coach Corley. Summer workouts will begin during the second week of June. The Saints are coming off of a very productive and record-setting 2022 and need your help to continue to get better! We work hard, but we have fun, too.

MUSIC LESSONS

Would you like to learn an instrument? Do you have an instrument sitting around your house but haven't picked it up since elementary school? Are you interested in participating in the pep band in the winter, but don't currently play an instrument? Ms. Goodman offers instrumental and voice lessons over the summer at the school, including piano. Contact her for rates and scheduling details. You must provide your own instrument (but Ms. Goodman can help you acquire one if needed!)

JUNIORS & JUNIOR PARENTS: Below are the vaccine requirements for starting 12th grade. In order for a senior to receive their 2023-2024 class schedule, Ms. Blanton needs to have an updated immunization record that reflects these vaccinations.
