| | STUDENT SCHEDULES & NEW SIS We had a couple of setbacks while working on student schedules for next year but anticipate finalizing those in the coming week. Teachers are also working on their requests for the student supply list which will be published when schedules are published. Thank you for your patience with this! Once those are ready, students and parents will be sent an invite to register/login with the new Blackbaud Student Information System (SIS) which is the replacement for JupiterEd. |

Also on that page, you will find instructions to subscribe to the main JPII and athletics calendars if you would like to add them to your iOS or Android device. The first day of school for all students is Wednesday, August 18 which is a half day dismissing at 12:05 p.m. That evening at 5:30 we will host a Back to School Night and we encourage all students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) to attend. |

|
| | JUMP INTO JPII! Jump into JPII is our new student orientation led by Link Crew leaders who will lead sessions to help all incoming freshmen and transfer students transition to JPII. Jump into JPII will be held Monday, August 16 & Tuesday, August 17 from 9:00 a.m.-12 noon and all incoming freshmen and transfer students should plan to attend. Parents and guardians are welcome to visit Tuesday morning for a Q&A session with coffee and donuts. |

|
| | STUDENT-PARENT HANDBOOK The 2021-2022 Student-Parent Handbook has been published and can be found on the STUDENTS and FAMILIES pages on our website. Of note, changes have been made to the Academic Intervention Program (found on page 28) and Dress Code (found on page 13). Students still need to wear polos in one of the four school colors (navy, white, yellow, or gray) on Mondays-Thursdays, but they do not need to wear a polo embroidered with the school logo unless instructed to do so by the school (therefore they still need to have at least one embroidered polo). |

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN SAINTS SPORTS While summer workouts for many sports continue (see the calendar for dates and times), the start of the fall sports season is just three weeks away! Practices for cross country, football, women's golf, men's soccer, women's tennis, and volleyball can officially start on Monday, July 26. In order for student-athletes to participate in official practices and games, all requirements for participation in Saints sports will need to be completed. This includes registering with Rank One, submitting a copy of a recent sports physical, and completing concussion vital signs testing with Youngs Physical Therapy. |
|
|
Youngs will offer concussion vital signs testing on Thursday, July 8 at 8:00 a.m. and Tuesday, July 20 at 6:30 p.m. upstairs in the gym. To participate, you must bring a laptop with you; an iPad will not work. |
| | SPORTS PHYSICALS The NCISAA requires student-athletes to have a physical every 13 months. ECU Sports Medicine & Youngs will offer students the opportunity to get a physical on Monday, July 26 from 5-8 p.m (by appointment only) in the gym. Cost is $20. This is not a requirement; it is an opportunity provided to our families. |
| | MEETING FOR ALL STUDENT-ATHLETES AND PARENTS / GUARDIANS All student-athletes and their parents/guardians are asked to attend a meeting hosted by Youngs on Wednesday, August 18 at 7:00 p.m. (immediately following Back to School Night) in the PAC. |

| | SOFTBALL - KYLIE GILROY Coach Watts decided to step down as head coach but will continue to be involved in the softball program. Back in the spring, we announced the addition of Kylie Gilroy to the JPII math department; Gilroy has also agreed to lead the Saints softball team. Gilroy started playing softball when she was six years old and played travel ball all along the east coast for 11 years. She was a four-year varsity starter at West Liberty-Salem High School in Ohio and received the scholar-athlete award all four years. Her senior year she was team captain, named first-team all-conference, and made the district all-star team. Coaching is something Gilroy knew as a player that she would like to do. While she chose not to play in college, her NCAA recruiting profile from high school included the following: "After my playing days I am looking to become a softball coach at some level so I can stay in the game." She helped coach community recreational teams back in Ohio but was never able to commit as a full-time coach because her year-round playing schedule did not allow it. As the new coach for Saints softball, she hopes to provide an environment where players can build fundamental skills, such as teamwork and communication skills, that will help them grow and succeed both on and off the field. |

| | WRESTLING - GREG SISK Greg Sisk has been coaching youth and high school athletics for more than twenty years. He has served as assistant and head coach for J.H. Rose High School and Greenville Wrestling Club (GWC), which he helped establish with former Rampant wrestling coaches Scott Honecker and Steve Catts in 2005. Sisk has served as head and assistant coach for Team NC National Duals Teams on several occasions. He has twice been awarded USA Wrestling Coach of the Year for North Carolina as well as named USA Wrestling Person of the Year and NCHSAA Conference Coach of the Year for eastern North Carolina. Since 2010 he has served on the board for North Carolina USA Wrestling and currently serves as vice chair and SafeSport Coordinator for the state of North Carolina.
Sisk has trained and developed wrestlers to achieve regional and state championships, national dual team positions, college wrestling opportunities, and coaching development. His coaching mission is to develop the highest levels of work ethic, skills, and character through the training and competition offered in the sport of wrestling. "My highest achievement as a coach is knowing that the introduction and relationship with the sport of wrestling and Jesus Christ has had a part in an athleteβs growth and accomplishments in life." His keys for success in coaching, training, and competing are to work hard, learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself and others, win and lose with dignity, and have fun doing it. |
