Congratulations to junior Jeremiah Reid who was chosen from a nominee pool of 1,700 to attend Governor's School! Jeremiah will study math at Meredith College from mid-June to mid-July.

NHS INDUCTION CEREMONY

This year's National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place THIS WEDNESDAY, March 30 at 9:00 a.m. in the PAC. Parents of newly-inducted students are invited to attend.

On Friday, junior Judy Elizalde-Salinas represented our school for a $200 donation from our students to the Carolina Pregnancy Center. The donation was raised through a school-wide coin war between each of the classes.

Mark your calendars! The inaugural Broadway Night will take place Saturday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the PAC. This will be a night of singing and acting by our students, with our theme being "Songs that Matter." Admission will be free (suggested $5/person donation at the door), and donation cans will be placed on tables during the show if you would like to donate to our growing arts programs.

PROM IS A MONTH AWAY!

This year's junior/senior prom will be held Thursday, April 28 from 8:00-11:00 p.m. at Stokes Family Farm. Tickets are $30 for individuals and $55 for couples; click the button below to purchase tickets online.

All juniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, April 5. Junior will report to the gym at the beginning of the day (instead of the PAC) and will be dismissed once testing is complete. The following day, Wednesday, April 6, will be a virtual day for all juniors and seniors.

All sophomores will take the PreACT on Wednesday, April 6 which is a half day of school.

All freshmen will participate in Iowa testing on Wednesday, April 6 which is a half day of school.

Spend an afternoon on the golf course while supporting our school! The inaugural JPII Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo!) at Greenville Country Club with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Individual playing spots are $125 or make it an afternoon with three friends to play as a team for $500. Hole sponsorships are also available. Click the button below to learn more.

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE SPRING PLAY

Our students will perform "Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed them Up)" on Friday, May 6 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Art Center.

NEXT DRIVER'S ED CLASS IS IN MAY

Students who need to take driver's ed and will be 14-and-a-half as of Monday, May 9 are eligible to participate in a class that will be held at the school May 9-13 and 16-20 from 3:15-6:15 p.m. each day. Students cannot miss any of the days or they will not get credit and do not receive a refund. Cost is $60 payable to JPII. A reminder that we no longer accept cash or Venmo at the gate for athletic events; only digital tickets will are accepted for home sporting events. Tickets can be purchased online or by downloading the HomeTown Fan app in the Google Play store or Apple App store.

Would you consider hosting a teen from Northern Ireland for 3 weeks this summer?

It is easier than you may think!

The Ulster Project pairs your teen with a teen from Northern Ireland from June 27-July 18. The teens (hosting and visiting) have a schedule of fun activities, service projects, church services, trips, and times of discovery that will keep them busy. Local counselors and counselors from Northern Ireland will be supervising the kids during all scheduled activities.

What do we ask of you and your family?

Provide a loving home with either a private room or a shared bedroom with your teen
Drop your teens off and pick them up from activities (participating families help each other out; if there are any schedule conflicts during those 3 weeks, that can usually be worked out)
