St. Valentine was a priest in third-century Rome who, during a time of great persecution, performed marriages for people. He was eventually captured and tortured in an effort to get him to renounce his faith. When it was seen that he would not renounce his faith, he was martyred. He is the patron saint of love, engaged couples, happy marriages, against fainting, plague, and beekeeping. READ MORE

SWIMMING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Wednesday, Maggie Geiger, Ethan Mitchell, Dillon Gregory, Nick Garza, and Luke McCarthy traveled to Greensboro for the Division III State Championship.

Luke McCarthy took FIRST PLACE in the 500 freestyle with a personal best 4:49.49. He also was a top 4 finish in the 100 breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:02.89.

Maggie, Dillon, and Nick also posted personal best times in their individual events.

Additionally, the boys posted best times in both of their relays. They came in 4th in the 200 freestyle relay out of 17 entries.

WINTER SPORTS PHOTOS

Winter sports photos are rescheduled for this Wednesday in the gym (schedule below). To order, download the order form or pick one up in the main office. Checks (payable to Strawbridge; no cash accepted) are due to the office by 12:00 noon on Tuesday. If payment is made online at strawbridge.net using the code FM352661 when you click on the red "Order Pictures and Yearbooks" button, you MUST PRINT the online proof of purchase and send it to the office by Tuesday at noon.

Science Olympiad Competition

SAINTS BASEBALL

The 2021 baseball season officially begins on Monday. Practices will take place Monday through Friday from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

The Science Olympiad team will have a very important meeting this Tuesday after school in room N119. Please plan on attending either virtually or in person. We will be discussing this Saturday's competition.

The NC Opportunity Scholarship must be renewed each year and the priority renewal period for existing families is February 1-March 1. To renew the scholarship, you will need to visit MyPortal on the NC State Education Assistance Authority website to complete the income verification.
