BACK TO SCHOOL BASH AT SAWYER'S

All students are invited to join us for a night of back to school fun tomorrow, Monday, August 15 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Sawyer's Fun Park. Everyone will have access to the trampoline park/ninja course, ropes course, rock walls, and laser tag. The only cost to attend is if you want to jump - you'll need to purchase trampoline socks at Sawyer's for $3.21 and bring with you a the waiver form linked below signed by a parent/guardian.

Parents are invited to stay and socialize as well!

ORDER ONLINE

The first day of school for all students is THIS WEDNESDAY, August 17 which is a half day, dismissing at 12:00 noon. Thursday will be the first full day of school.

Our Back to School Open House will be Wednesday evening starting at 5:30 p.m in the gym. There will be an opening session followed by time for everyone to visit and meet with teachers.

DRESS CODE

A few dress code clarifications:

"Dress for Success" will start on Wednesday, August 24 which is Mass of the Holy Spirit with Bishop Zarama as well as yearbook picture day. Students should wear the daily uniform for the first day of school.

Shorts are to have at least a 7" inseam and fit appropriately. Any clothing that is overly tight or form-fitting is not considered modest and therefore not acceptable.

Tops (shirts and/or outerwear) should not fall below shorts and thus give the appearance that no bottoms are being worn.

DRESS CODE

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

All families, students, and staff enter the parking lot from Quail Ridge Drive ONLY. Drop off/pick up will be at the front of the building and exit onto 14th Street via the north exit only. The south driveway/entrance on 14th Street will be closed to traffic during morning drop-off and afternoon pickup.

MASS MINISTRY

If you would like to be in the choir, be a reader, and/or be an altar server (must be Catholic) for weekly Mass, please let us know by filling out the Mass Ministry Interest Form.

Auditions for the fall play will be held on Thursday, August 25 after school in the PAC. The play will be a horror documentary, so please prepare a serious monologue (if possible) of any length for the audition. The first rehearsal will be held on Thursday, September 1.

JUMP INTO JPII!

Jump into JPII is our new student orientation led by JPII Crew leaders who will present sessions to help all incoming freshmen and transfer students transition to JPII. Jump into JPII will be held Tuesday, August 16 from 9:00 a.m.-3:45 p.m. and all incoming freshmen and transfer students should plan to attend.

Parents & Guardians of new students are invited to join us for some sessions geared toward them starting at 2:00 p.m. on August 16. The sessions will finish when the students are done for the day. This is not required but highly encouraged.

BUS TRANSPORTATION

Bus transportation will start on Wednesday for those who have committed to pay the bus transportation fee. Buses will drop off at the front door in the morning; after school, students will load the bus at the athletic complex to ride home. Pick-up and drop-off times will be finalized on Monday afternoon and posted on the website.

Students who are taking dual enrollment classes through Pitt Community College are reminded to pay their fees to PCC no later than Wednesday, August 17.

All non-seniors (and the few seniors who were not able to choose a spot on the academic campus) will park on the athletic campus this year. Students can request a parking permit by filling out this form with their parent/guardian (this is an online form that requires a parent signature so it may be best to complete the form on a phone or tablet). There is no fee for the permit. Students are reminded that parking at school is a privilege and failure to adhere to the rules (found on page 18 of the handbook) can result in the revoking of student parking privileges.

PARKING PERMIT REQUEST

Each family is asked to provide the following general school supplies. 11th and 12th grade families should bring these supplies with them on the first day of school; 9th and 10th grade families are asked to provide these items when we return to school in January after Christmas break.

3 boxes of facial tissues (Kleenex, Puffs, etc.)
5 reams of copy paper
2 containers of hand sanitizer
2 containers of disinfecting wipes (Clorox, Lysol, etc.)
